The most dramatic, and energetic landscapes are found on only 6% of the surface of the Earth. Geologically, these 6% of the landscapes are active at the plate boundaries only when the plates interact with one another, and the energy is being release from the interior of the Earth either mechanically, or thermally (29). Mechanical release occurs in the divergent plate where earthquakes or mountains are formed, and thermal release happen in the convergent zones where volcanoes or plutonic rocks are made. The rest of the 94% of the land are plate centres, where the process of erosion occurs for millions of years, and it is also where terrigenous, pelagic, and hydrogenous rock becomes well-sort sediment, ranges from mud to gravel sizes (30) settle in sea beds. For example, the Lake Eyre in Great Artesian Basin, Australia where they occupy areas with little change tectonically, and have not gone beyond the bounds by the sea since the Palaeogene period (36).
