If I were to name the twenty-first century, I would call it the Age of Disaster. Many events have happened throughout the course of the twenty-first century that forever changed lives all around the world. To kick off the twenty-first century, a group named Al-Qaeda, planned a terrorist attack. The plan went in full force on September 11, 2001. Two planes crashed into the Twin Towers, destroying the towers within hours. A second plane also crashed into the Pentagon. A final plane was thought to be headed toward the White House, but passengers found out about the recent attacks and crashed the plane into a field in Pennsylvania.They basically saved the lives of the president and a million other people. A total of 2, 819 people were killed in this catastrophe: including innocent bystanders, firefighters, policemen, and workers in the buildings. Twenty percent of people in America knew someone hurt or killed in the attacks. These attacks will forever be in our hearts and will never be forgotten. September 11, 2001 will have an imprint on the people who have lived through the twenty-first century. This was just the start of the twenty-first century. Another horrible event that occurred, was the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan on October 7, 2001. Many good things came out of the invasion of Afghanistan throughout the course of 13 years. Troops killed Osama bin Laden and overthrew the Taliban government. Some not so great events came out of the invasion too. First of all, we…
